Refund policy

Every Bonded Matter piece is made to order and built to last. If something isn't right, we'll make it right.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You're entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You're also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure doesn't amount to a major failure. These rights apply regardless of the timeframes set out below.

Change of mind returns

We accept change of mind returns within 30 days of delivery on eligible pieces.

To qualify, the piece must be:

  • Unworn and in original condition
  • Returned in its original packaging with certificates and any included accessories
  • Not resized
  • Not a Concierge or bespoke commission

If these conditions are met, we'll refund the full purchase price to your original payment method within 10 business days of receiving the return.

Engraved pieces

Engraved pieces are eligible for change of mind returns, minus a $200 re-finishing fee deducted from your refund. This covers removing the engraving and restoring the piece to resale condition.

Return shipping

We cover return shipping. Our courier will collect the piece from you, fully insured. Pack the piece in its original shipping box with all original packaging and certificates.

Not eligible for change of mind returns

  • Resized pieces
  • Concierge or bespoke commissions
  • Gift cards

These exclusions apply to change of mind only. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law for faulty goods still apply.

Faulty or not as described

If a piece arrives damaged or isn't what you ordered, contact us within 30 days of delivery and we'll cover return shipping and either repair, replace, or refund the piece.

For any other fault, contact us as soon as you notice the issue. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply throughout the life of the piece, regardless of the 30-day window. For a major failure, the choice of remedy is yours.

How to start a return

Email moments@bondedmatter.com with your order number and reason for return. We'll arrange insured courier pickup within 2 business days.

Exchanges

We don't process direct exchanges. Return the original piece for a refund and place a new order. For sizing issues on rings, see Care & Services.
